Dennis Mountain Line for Black Milksnake

tallkool1 Jan 05, 2011 09:04 AM

I have recently had the chance to pick up some Black Milksnakes out of the Dennis Mountain Line. I am familiar with the San Antonio (VPI) and Central Florida Zoo lines but I am unacquainted with the Dennis Mountain Line. Can anyone provide me additional information on the Dennis Mountain line. Thanks TK

At the risk of having to be corrected again I'm going to wade in. From my recollection they are the same line. I had a pair from DM some time back and they were among the best blacks I'd ever seen.

Hard to correct anything you said there... all BM's currently available are from the SA and Florida stock and even those are almost certainly derived from the same original founding stock animals.

There are finally other lines of BM's (three at least) out there but as of yet none are of breeding age... hopefully the folks that own them will remember how badly I want some of the offspring

BM's are great animals, you will enjoy them if you decide to pick them up.

Yep, all the older lines floating around are all from the same handfull of animals.
I am one of the few that have a new line.Mine will breed in 2012 and tend to be a little on the silverish side and a bit smaller but they are 100% locale animals.

Did you bring these in yourself and if not who did? Can you disclose the line and locality to us as I would be interested in these animals when you reproduce them. Do you have any pics?
Thanks

For instance, Mark Bell's so-called bloodline line is NOT a different bloodline of gaigeae than the others, they are merely derived from "his" stock from the San Antonio zoo bloodline...

Look forward to seeing those gaigeae that you produce from the different line!

I purchased 2.2 from Dennis in 2007-2008. Outstanding animals in every way..huge, jet black, excellent feeders. Can't go wrong with Dennis' gaigeae. Produced my first clutch from his animals this year. Babies are amazing also.

Thanks,
Michael
