Need advise on a substrate.

I recently got done building a nice new enclosure for my female Iguana. She now can spread out in a 6'long X 5'wide X 6'high indoor enclosure. I always kept her on a non particle substrate for fear of impaction, but now with such a large enclosure repti carpet, and news papers just don't cut it anymore. With the water, and poop it just becomes a nasty pile of wet paper after 2 days. That and with such a beautiful natural enclosure my Mom wants something a little more natural for the substrate as well, and easier to clean up. What do you suggest for a substrate in an enclosure like this? I still want it safe for her, but I want it to be more ideal then paper is for such a large area. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I never used particle substrate before, and want an update on what is working these days. How is that bed a beast, or substrates like that that come in the blocks

How about reptile carpeting? You may also try to work on getting her litter trained, that will help keep it cleaner.

How do you potty train an iguana? And when is the best time to start this? Mine is pretty young still but I would like to work on this. I have heard about the using a small tub of water but how do you ensure they use this for this purpose? I have also heard they often go shortly after eating in the morning and then you take them to where ever you want them to go, but seeing as I can't tell when Bodhi is eating, that seems difficult. Thanks.

How about sheet linoleum? If you give her a big enough water container, she'll crap in htat and make less poop on hte floor.

I guess your parents won't let you train her to crap in the hall bathtub? After a while, igs only need five minutes to do it, and it's over. I use an aqquarium net to scoop out the urates and feces, and then use a paintbrush to wipe down and rinse the tub with soapy water as the water drains out.
