That's the million dollar question. There is some debate as to what these animals actually are. Some are telling me they're the black dragons or komaini, and some think they are different. They had very muted patterns as babies and supposedly the black dragons bred down in Costa Rica come out solid black. Mine are both solid black now. They are both around 4 feet at a year. Sounds like they are on pace to hit 6 feet plus to me. I guess time will tell.

did you modify the vision cage much like for nesting and ventilation purposes?
No, these are there temporary enclosures. I'm building there next enclosures now. The female does have a nest box in with her, but the substrate is shallow. They have done well in them short term. I would not recommend them for adults or extended periods. I use visions for young monitors and it seems to work well for a few months.
