So there is this pet store near where i live, and it is just awful. ESPECIALLY in the.. you guessed it.. snake department. In the cages there are piles of feces in the corners... Correct me if i'm wrong but don't they only poop about once a week? And there are piles at least an inch high?? Not to mention the countless amounts of snake skins. Why this problem? Because everybody is afraid of them, afraid to handle them even long enough to clean their tanks. I think that it should be requirement that even if you are afraid of any of the animals carried in the pet store.. .you should have to handle them, and get used to them.. because it's your f***ing job!!!! does anybody know any laws on neglect or what organizations i may be able to go to about this? I live in N.C. Places such as this (and it's not the only one i've seen here too =[ ) disgust me! I wouldn't let my child, my dog, my cat, hamster, gerbil, bird, lizard, or whatever pet sit in it's own filth, a snake deserves the same treatment. Dogs are more deadly than most snakes... Gerbils are known for biting more than any snake i've ever encountered.. but parents let their children have them with no problem... Again please let me know of any specific laws against this treatment or any organizations i may be able to get in touch with to end this terrible abuse. Thank you!
