here's my ultramel anery het for stripe, she's a 09, and getting some good size on her considering how often she eats.

and her future mate that I recently got. a 010 anery motley stripe, I think he's het for a couple things as well. another one that's always hungry, how they should be.

Beautiful snakes Mike! So this snake is Ultramel? I wouldn't have guessed that this snake is amel at all. I'm not that well familiar with the Ultramels. Seems like it should look more like a snow? Great snake regardless!

I'm relatively new to corn snake morphs and I'm still learning what's what, I call it a Ultramel Anery just because that's what the breeder called it.

That's probably what it is then, I'm just curious. Ultra is a type of hypo. Ultramel is basically a hypo Amel. So if crossed with an Anery, I would expect to see an animal that was more like a snow corn? Like I said I'm not an expert on Ultramels, I do know they are a little different. Is it possible that it is an Ultra Anery?

I searched for some other pics and it seems to be consistent with yours Mike. I find this combination to be very interesting to say the least. Here's a link> http://iansvivarium.com/morphguide/ultramelanery/

Justin Guyer had been breeding, and was selling snakes he "thought" were awesome ghost for about six years until he had a breeding that proved his line to actually be ultramel anery's..LOL!. He felt quite foolish but was a totally honest mistake just about anyone could have made actually. He could not have known this prior if it werent for his breeding outcome when he finally discovered the error. There are no doubt a whole bunch of these floating around in the hobby that are still being bred as ghosts. But I'm sure many folks are going WTF?? when they breed a different ghost to one of these and don't get a ghost..LOL!

So I'm not the only one that was puzzled by the ultramel Anery. It is a bit confusing. I would have thought the animal would look more like a snow for sure. Doug thanks for that link, that was very interesting!

Sure thing bro!

And yeah, the ultra gene and ultramel act totally differently than normal recessive genes. I remember some really weird inheritance about it, so google some up and you will see guys like Joe Pierce and such on other places describing how it acts in great detail. It is a co-dominant thing with amel(I think)..LOL!, but a snake cannot be het for ultramel or some such thing. Someone explained it here a long time ago too, and it was how I remembered the others saying it was too. ...It's really weird..LOL!

Ahh!!!,.....found it!,here is the link!
