Ball Python. What Kind Is It?

KeViN_CSV_06 Jan 09, 2011 10:58 PM

I found this and am not sure if its a normal or some kind of morph. I am not too familiar with the different morphs as i am more in to boas. I am considering keeping her. Let me know what you think

You don't think it could be a hypomelanistic like the other guy said??

zippy00_99 Jan 12, 2011 09:53 AM

The other guy said hyPERmelanistic. Wether it is a hypERmelanistic, or just a "dark" female, the only way to tell is to breed her. If she makes dark babies, then she is hypERmelanistic, but if all of the babies look light and more....normal....than her, than she is just a dark normal.

Assuming he's not heavily into a shed, he's hypermelanistic.

Yeah she wasn't heavily in to shed when I took the picture of her. She had actually shed not too long before I took the picture so she was in her "lighter" stage I guess you could call it

Looks like a dark normal to me. For a moment I thought it was heavily scarred, then realized it was just dust on whatever the picture was shot through (glass tank?) which kind of looked like old healed bite marks on the snake's body.

Yeah I took the picture through the tank. No scars on her
