ballfreak Jan 11, 2011 01:35 PM

this morning went to check on my spider thats 1500 grams and has been with my pastel 2000 grams now they werent togther today so i tried to feed my spider a samll rat she wouldnt eat so i took her out of her tub put her in with my pastel and closed the tub. they went absolutely bonkers on each other i mean the water bowl was turned upside down and they were blasting each other it actually sounded like a burmese python attacking a full grown rabbit. i was in complete shock had balls for 5 years now and never ever seen them get crazy like that. i pulled the tub out and one came out one way and the pastel was coming straight at me i mean with rage and force i couldnt believe what was going on. finally was able to get him in the tub and the spider was under a rack got her in her tub and took a breather. has anything like this ever happen to anyone?? even after 20 minutes opened up the pastels tub and again straight for me i mean it looked like it tought of me as dinner!!! im not stretching the story this snake was totally out of control like i never ever even dreamed a ball could get. i dont even know if i should pair them up again thats how bad it was. which really sucks as i waited years to pair them up at least i have seen them locked up twice before but i dont know if i put them together and not being able to see them till the next day who knows if its possible them dont kill each other not sure if thats ever happened probably i would be the first my crappy luck! anyone could comment on this i would really appreciate it. again they were possessed like the devil exageratting!!

First off, take a breath! Puncuation is your friend! Secondly, I know you said you've seen them copulate, but are you sure that's what you saw? Cause that sure sounds like 2 males!

ballfreak Jan 11, 2011 03:24 PM

positive what i saw in fact i have a pic i can email you the pic dont know how to post pics and its on my iphone so its easy to email if you want to take a look i would be happy to get your opinion on it? but your right thats what i was thinking i have heard of males combating. but all i could think right now is that my spider is a real nast bastard and maybe she was in no mood as she usually is like that and me putting her back with him cause they were together last week and also being that i just tried feeding her maybe she just got stressed out and also she does look like she is starting go into a shed as shes starting to darken up but still it was out of a horror show it was super aggressiveness that i didnt think balls had well balls to act that way??? thanks and if you would like me to email you that please let me know? thanks again!

OK....you KNOW it's not two males....then it's not male combat

they bred....

so...either he has bad breath and bad credit right now and she caught on and wants him out of her life....OR she is done breeding and still wants him gone,...no palimony no breeding...get out of my life boy...!!!

really....I have had this happen....put a ghost male in with a female he bred for a couple years and the house shook...slam match...took him out....now he bred her this year....put him in and no problem...last year I think they bred and were done...and she hated him that day

..........try again in a few days and see if they do it again...use the opposite cage.......

good luck...

Males will copulate with each other so simply seeing a lock up is no guarantee. Males combat - Females can get pissy and tell males to bugger off - this usually entails a bunch of pushing as opposed to male combat where they are wrapping around each other and really slamming down. Hopfully you just saw a pissy female

Good luck.

ok will try again and see what happens this weekend but those anyone think that one can be killed??

rjs73 Jan 11, 2011 08:56 PM

I had the same thing happen last year with a pair that have given me eggs in the past. They were slamming each other around and when I opened the tub the male actually came out so fast he went over my shoulder and I caught him in mid air.

I waited a couple days and paired them again and everything was fine. I have no idea why they acted that way. If I wasn't 100% sure that she was in fact a she I would of thought I had two males fighting.

Have you gotten back together again? Results?

I had two together that a breeder told me were boy/girl but ended up being boy/boy. I was stressing the hell out of the poor guys without meaning too.

Luckily I only put them together two times then had my snake sexed and told the breeder who sold "her" to me and he fixed it. : ).

They aren't usually not interested while in shed.

Paige69 Jan 18, 2011 02:24 AM

Thanks for the info. I have mine in covered tubs so by the time I get them off the rack, on the floor with the lids off I am usually not sure if they were mating and I interrupted them. : )
