Boaphile racks

robert Jan 11, 2011 09:19 PM

I want to start by thanking everyone again that responded to my animal plastics rack posts and I greatly appreciate everyones input and responses!

Now, even though just about everyone said how great animal plastics racks are, after looking at the cost of shipping and the cost of purchasing the tubs myself, I looked at the boaphile plastics rack and they come assembled, with tubs and shipping is free! Due to those reasons, I am now considering boaphile racks...

Anyone use them here and if so any and all reviews would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Robert

And I love them. I use them for baby geckos and snakes and they hold humidity and heat very well. I have not used the adult racks.

For the record, I also love AP (Ali is awesome) and ARS (thanks Brian!), but for the babies I liked the fact the Boaphiles have sides between the tubs where as most others do not.

I will be ordering quite a few more Boaphiles in the next month or so.

Robert,

I also use the Boaphile hatcling racks. I have 3 sets with 30 tubs per rack. I have them stacked on top of each other and couldn't be happier with them.

Several friends of mine have the 4 foot wide boa cages. They are also very happy with them.

Good luck with oyur decision.

Robert,

Glad to see you are investigating. It seems to me that you want the best bang for your buck. I think we all do. While Boaphile makes great racks, did you break down the cost of tubs, heat and shipping? I did my research and found pricing is really similar when considering these factors. I have both and prefer AP racks.

Good luck in your search.

Hopefully the quality has improved, but I bought a Boaphile rack a few years ago and imo it is poorly-made in comparison to competitors. Yes, it didn't require me to build it, but the shelves have separated and the rack lacks integrity.

it's an older rack that uses the 7 gallon Rubbermaids. The plastic is very thin and has cracked three times...though I've been as careful as possible when moving it. Thank goodness for duct tape.

I'd go with something else just on customer service. I read a lot about it, but when I saw a situation in the boa forum, that convinced me! The guy made a thread about trying to get ahold of him about cages, repeated phone calls, e-mails, etc. and had a specific question. Jeff made a reply saying what time he answered his phone (which was when the guy reportedly was calling) but made no attempt to just go ahead and answer the guy. Dig it up if you want, it was a pretty bold slap in the guys face.

i have 2 4' cages, a pedestal, and a rack from boaphile. im very happy with all of them and feel that they are great products.

that said... i'm not a huge fan of the boaphile company. the customer service is pure crap. in the course of ordering my items i sent 5 emails and called 3 times. all of which were ignored.

so GREAT products, HORRIBLE people.

Granted there is a long wait for AP but there is a reason. I just got my first rack yesterday. I trolled forums and AP had best highest overall satisfaction. Ali is awesome with the customer service she provides and is very friendly. I wonder if we can clone her. I wanted to buy another rack even though I don't have the snakes to fill the first one. Assembly was easy. would have been easier if I didn't have just a trusty screwdriver but was still extremely simple to do. extra screws and everything so I mounted my herpstat with one of them.
