Bcc or Bci

mfoux Jan 14, 2011 02:48 PM

I just took in a pair of "homeless" boas. I know how to care for them and they're definitely boa constrictor, but, not being a boa guy, I don't know how to tell Bcc from Bci. The person I got them from didn't have ANY info. All I know is that they seem healthy, are very laid back and are about 4' and 5' long.
Can anyone tell me how to tell the difference?
I'll post some pics soon.

BCI is the most common of the pet boas. The most notable difference is in the red on the tails, BCC have blood red as opposed to brown red in the other. Also, BCI are generally more docile. Here is a pic of a BCI.
