Hi Kyle,
I am not any kind of expert but 28 seems really small for an adult breedable female. I would put females in at least a 32 or 41qt container. Males should be fine in a 32qt. This is what I put my few in:
babies - 6 qt
300 grams - 12 or 16 qt (can't remember the exact measurement but close)
500 grams- 28qt
1000 gram -32qt
1500 grams or breeding couples -41qt
There is so much involved with them and their requirements. The trick is the balance for them-- comfort AND more importantly the snakes sense of security.
I have two small ones in a 12 or 16 and I swear they enjoy being together. Of course I could be 100% wrong. They are thriving though and would eat every day if I let them. When I feed I take them out and put them each in 6qt tubs.
Hope this info helps, Paige

It does! I have read that 41qt should be the size for females. Thanks!

Kyle,
It is pretty addicting!! I haven't been into snakes that long but it is so interesting and a constant learning curve. I enjoy reading this forum and try to put the advice here into practice as much as I can or at the very least learn from it. : ).
I also have a couple of guys close that help me too. I am constantly blown away by the beautiful creatures the guys/girls make on here. Know wonder these snakes are addicting!! : ) Paige

fairly sure 32 are the same footprint as a 28 jsut with more height. all our females are in 28s and doing just fine. biggest one is about 2500g or so

I have a 28 and my snake looks pretty tight in it. Do they prefer that though? I don't have any snakes that are 2500... Must be nice! I just found our that our snake Big Daddy is a girl so helping her put on some weight. : ) Paige
