You can't go wrong w/ Hogs or Pits, esp Gophers. I keep 2 and would have more if I had the room. Definitely go for Gophers if you want a snake of good size, appetite and great personality. Gophers and hogs offer tons of morphs, and IMHO Gophers offer more natural variability than any other snake except maybe Rosys. As proof here's a Great Basin from L.A. County.

After looking at ur pick and doing some reserach on them I might just have to go with that the only problem is I read they get pretty big which isn't a problem but can they be housed in a 36Lx21dx20h if so I am sold

You could also take a look over on the "Pine/bull/gopher snake" forum here on KS and look at several of the smaller possibilities in Pituophis.

Here's a link....

The snake in the pic was a sub adult. My adult male P.c. deserticola (pictured) lives in a similar sized tank. He's probably around 4.5'. I don't think Great Basins from the area I found mine get much bigger than that. San Diego Gophers from my area (Chatsworth) and Sonorans from way down south get BIG! Ive heard 6 or &'. Alot of guys onthe Pit forum use large (I don't know thw qt size) sterlite containers. Jason Nelson's come up w/ some absolutely amazing Great Basin morphs.
