Anti-Tank Barriers

pyromaniac Jan 19, 2011 10:23 AM

Tank without barrier:

With barrier in place:

The "tanks":

The worst offender:

I have four big Zilla tanks with screen lids. I foresaw the day one of my "tanks"* would be roosting on top of the tank lid and push the screen through...hence the barrier. (The cloth cover is a winter thing to help with humidity in my dry cabin, also a big moss hide under the cardboard hide.) Since installing these barriers, no "tanks" have wanted to roost on top anymore; I guess the hardware cloth is not very comfortable! LOL! The cats are not interested in breaking into the tanks, just sleeping on them. The snakes maybe would not appreciate that, either. The snakes don't seem to mind being watched through the glass, though.

*The cats are referred to as "tanks" because just try hefting one of them...

my wife's cats like to sleep on the vent I have in my boa's cage (it's a 6x3 cage with a 20x20 inch screen vent). It looks so damn uncomftorable to sleep on but they like it.
