Last year I bought my first house then shortly after left for my last deployment with the Army(I will get back home in May and end my contract in September). I have been using an architectural program to design the remodel which will basically be an entire interior remodel an addition. I have wanted to get back into reptiles for several years now but havent been able to due to the military. Well I want to get a pair of peach throats when i get back.
Im designing the enclosure now wich will be partially built into the house (back, right side and ceiling)it will be 10x3x8 with a 6ft section having a 6x2x2 stock tank filled with top soil plus soil and leaf litter about 6" thick over entire length of cage, which will be basically set on top of the trough. the walls will be drywall exterior/ cement board (im debating whether using tile or making fake rock backround ) the water bowl will be semi built in (22x28x8" plastic that can be taken out but will have a drain so it can drain into a bucket for ease of use). I would like the window/ door to be 6'x4'. It will have lots of hollow and solid logs fake and real plants.By my plans i belive i can fit about 6 basking spots big enough.
My questions are (if you can understand my ramble).
Does this sound like a good enclosure for a pair of adult Peachthroats?
Any ideas on the Door(6ft Lx4ft W)?
Interior walls and backround (plants and such also)ideas?
anything else anyone might think as helpful would be of great help.
Thanks.
