Please don't take this the wrong way...I really want to help!
Your setup sucks for Varanid husbandry!!
Where to start, your top does not hold humidity. No proper hides.
Too small of cage. cypress mulch is not a good substrate.
To improve your husbandry you'll need to build a nice enclosure. Commercially available enclosures are of no use.
Change out your substrate, add some good hides on the cool side and warm side, improve your basking and ambient temps along with your humidity.
