The male is a Bessette line and the female I picked up from Bill Cagle and he said she was from his bloodline. However I think Bill's line is a Bessette line as they do look allot like Bessette line.

Take care

I've always been a fan of Bill's line..... I have alot of Bessette boas...
2 2006 females.... the one I got from AMer that is a pretty well known boa(she's been photographed extensively by Charles and Sam Floyd) the other female came from Joel Thomas...
here is the 2006 female.... you may recognize this photo.. it was the pic that Amer had on his site

here is a pic of her recently

Here is the female I got from Joel Thomas

The really clean Bessette female is a 2008 produce by Eugene...

I also have these other 2 males from 2008.... they were produced by Eugene as well..... and Im pretty sure they are siblings... they may also be siblings to the clean female.... but Im still waiting on the answer to that question from Eugene

Here's a quick pic of the other male I snapped for you tonite

SO that sums up my Bessette line Brazilians.... They all start at pretty much black and gray/ white.... but they are all turning a very bright golden color..... they all have very short tails.... with differing levels of red/// but for what they are lacking in tail... they more than make up for in saddle and body color... and very cool head markings....

I will definitely do some pure Bessette pairings so I can keep this line going on in it's pristine state....but I really look forward to the outcross breedings..... when I can pair them up with the Hammond and Rio Bravo Belems and Dyer/ Lemke bcc..... I have this picture of a Bessette boa body with the tail of a Belem...

Hi Marc,

I like your Belem female you got from Gus the best and the really clean Bessette female to. To bad one of them was not a male then you could produce one that looks like your really clean Bessette female with the tail of the Belem female you got from Gus. I love how all the Brazilians get the golden color to them as they get older. Your North Central Brazilian looks like it could be a pastel boa or maybe even a hypo / ghost boa. The tail doesn't say hypo to me but the reduced black in the body saddles do. Maybe you have the first true pure Brazilian boa morph.

Take care

This boa is very interesting It comes from the only pair of imported Brazilian BCC I know of in the US..... unfortunately I cannot get anyone to tell me any information other than they originate from North Central Brazil.....

The most striking thing about this female is her base color... she's almost white...and has perfectly spaced ladder saddles and tail... with a very short tail..... I really love this boa... and think she has alot to offer my project ..There were some of her siblings for sale by prehistoric pets last year... but those didnt really interest me much....

If anyone out there knows anything else about this bloodline I would appreciate any info you have....

Belem x Evans(Lemke/Dyer) - Weitzman Line - BCC outcrossing at its best!!!

I really love this boa.... Mike Weitzman produced it in 2008.... THis is a great example showing the possibilities of outcrossing Brazilian BCC..... A friend of mine asked me why I would bother getting into the Brazilian BCC when there is so little genetic diversity available to us(maybe 5 or 6 true originating bloodlines)
Here is the real beauty of this..... All of these bloodlines are SO very different... the variability even within each bloodline is dramatic... If you look at some of the litters of Belem BCC Gus has produced... the variation is dramatic... Gus told me to pair boas that looked different to get the best results..

Here is the Hammond male I have breeding to the 06 Bessette female right now.... The morphology of the Belems that I have is alot different than other BCC.... they have a VERY flat ventral surface.... with alot more black flecking than Surinames... The head shape is also very different than most shield boas.... they also have long deep red tails......

THis is the Belem that I got from Gus last year.....

You can see the different shape the head has compared to other northern BCC lines......

THis boa is hands down... the collection favorite.... I bugged Gus for 6 months before he finally gave in and sold her to me LOL.. ....
Here are the pics of the parents of this litter.. the golden colors is just amazing.... Gus sure has the Golden touch

The Dam -

Here is a pic that Gus posted of the litter that my female came from

you can see mine on the right hand side.... I cont wait to see how this female turns out.... she gets brighter and brighter with every shed.... I called up Gus and asked him to pick me out a female for me... I was thrilled when I opened up the shipping box to see this female... If I would have been able to pick one out of this litter... I wouldve made the same choice...
Gus.. youre the man!!!!!!!
