Last Little One Breaks Winter Fast

pyromaniac Jan 28, 2011 10:10 AM

Little Blaze, one the last of my 08 baby pyros to begin feeding again this year after stopping in early November. Wouldn't you know it would be the prettiest of the lot that would take the longest to start up ( and make me worry! LOL!) There is one other little girl who has yet to eat this year, but she ate a lot up to mid December, so I am not worried about her.

Good deal Bob! You'll soon not hear the slithering of little scales, lol.

Why bring snakes up now?

I wait until the first of March, more on line with nature where I live (5,000 ft in Arizona).

It can get really hot were I live so I like to have them be able to feed during a long spring. Once summer sets in with the heat they tend to not want to feed as much. Some will resume feeding in early fall for awhile, but the big push is spring. I'm not forcing them, just observing if they get more active and act hungry.
