Really nice trio you got!
I like the pinbanded without visible black most.
Do you think they will breed this season?

How does the pinbanded look ventrally?

yours
Michael

Thanks Michael,
These did not brumate.
They were too small last October so I did not cool them.
They will go through a brumation come Oct./Nov. this year and will not breed until next year.

The pinbanded one was produced by Michelle Rogers. Bob Applegate lineage and her ventral scales are almost all white with some orange speckling.....No black......

Nice trio! Next year will be here before you know it! LOL!
So how many pairs or trios do you plan to breed this spring?
I have only the one pyro trio; I separated the two females from the male yesterday and am fattening them up for April mating. The females are eating but the male has yet to start up.

Hi John. What's your hope in pairing two Melanistic thayeri? Is your wish to get all Melanistic offspring? Aren't the color combinations what makes the breed interesting?

>>Hi John. What's your hope in pairing two Melanistic thayeri? Is your wish to get all Melanistic offspring? Aren't the color combinations what makes the breed interesting?

As far as I know a melanistic x melanistic will produce ALL melanistic offspring. There is one breeder that claims it hasn't with his pairings but all the other breeders have proven it to breed true as a single recessive trait.

I have plenty of other thayeri to produce the variable clutches....We (Shannon and I) also have some "het" for melanistics to breed this year. In those clutches we hope to get MSPs, Leonis and Melanistics.......

And yes....color combination variability is what has kept me breeding thayeri since 1997......

Thanks Dave.....I didn't produce these so I can't take any credit.
The yellow leonis is a female produced by Jim Minesinger (Lee Abbott Lineage).
The other two (1.1) were produced by Michelle Rogers (Applegate Lineage)
