Most of my animals are still Brumating. The Brooks adults went down in November so I took them out last week. The other pics are animals too small to breed this year.

Thank you, Jimmy! I have some more Easterns but they did not want any part of the photo session yesterday. That eastern is a male F-1 from Virginia, about 10 south of pungo ridge, very near the N. Carolina line. His bands are a little dirty but the female has much cleaner bands. I have a nice female from Currituck county N.Carolina also, I got from Mark(Crimson King).
Oh and a pair of S. Georgia wide bands too, from separate breeders. I'll have to take pics of them another day.

Nice animals Jorge!. Man, that locality holbrooki has beefed-up BIG-TIME since you've had it too!

I think I recognize some youngster's there as well..LOL!

Yeah Doug the second and third pictures are the little guys I got from you. I wish I could capture the copper color that's coming in on that first little guy. The camera doesn't quite pick it up. The second one though a different shade is turning out very nice too! I really like his busy head pattern a lot. I have been pushing that female speckled a bit, but they don't seem to put on size as fast as the floridana.

Although Floridas are among my all-time favs, I must say the Holbooki is my favorite pic there...he seems so happy to have his picture taken. Just look at him! That is one photogenic snake.

Thank you! I grew up in New Orleans and the speckled Kings were my introduction to the world of snakes. I have a special place in my heart for them. Especially the ones from new Orleans. I was lucky enough to get two female that Kevin M, captured. This one is a little nervous, but she is my favorite. I thought I would never find a male for her, and last year my daughter, who lives in New Orleans, came up to visit and surprised me with this handsome male. Her cousin was walking around with it on his arm, and she begged him for it, to give to me. He is super calm, for a WC adult. But that's how my first big WC male was also, just a puppy.

Thanks, John! I'm surprised they're not more popular than they seem to be. Maybe I'm partial, since they were my first snakes?

I remember when i was a kid I had a holbrooki and a florida king at the same time. After keeping them both for a while i decided that the florida had everything the holbrooki had in pattern yet the florida was bigger, more placid and was similar enough that i got rid of the holbrooki out of boredom.

Wrong i know. But as a kid this is how I thought. So maybe an answer as to why the holbrookis are not as popular.

i am speaking as a kid here and now how I think today. But it could explain how others think.
