we have teeth , HELP ? sav monitor

my sav monitor just got 2 teeth up & 2 teeth down, now hes acting a little strange, could he be teething ? eats but not like usual (takes it or leaves it) hides in burrow longer than normal, outside for a little sun (one of his fav activities) seems to strss him, im going to my vet tomorrow, im just wondering IS HE TEETHING? poop looks good, nitrates not hard, temps are right, bask is nice and toasty 120, burrow is deep n cool, humidity is good

Hi, they have teeth even before they hatch from the egg, so no, he/she is NOT "teething"!
The teeth at the front of the mouth are sharp, but as the animal gets to adulthood, they change to a blunt dentition, as do all of the African varanids. They break and replace teeth quite often throughout their lives, so I don`t think there`s any cause for concern. I`m guessing this is a very young monitor?
Can you give some details of how you keep him/her; temps, humidity, foods etc, enclosure size and type, and finally, do you have any photos? Thanks!
