A Few Mites questions

exoticball Feb 08, 2011 09:27 AM

I know that mites are every keepers worst nightmare but I was wondering where do they come from?

For example if a keeper keeps every new animal separate from the rest of their collection until it has proven to be clean and healthy will they never get mites?

Do they have to be brought in on an animal like ticks or are they something that can just pop up some how?

Also can snake mites live on mammals also or are those a different type of mites?

I just was wondering about this lately and I know you guys are the guys to talk to.

Thanks in advance,
Matt
