No Marrons !

dan80woma Feb 09, 2011 01:13 PM

My het sharp female delivered 37 slugs and 2 albinos ? from my Marron X Het Sharp pairing. She must have retained sperm from 2009. Totally bummed about it. Good luck to the rest of you. Lets see some marrons !

That's really too bad...I'm imagining Sharp Marrons to be incredible. I only got 4 live babies last year from breeding a John Berry het pewter (bought as het blood) to T- albino Argentine. I only got 5 live babies from breeding the same het pewter male to "sunburn Mayan (het chocolate dilute)." It happens, unfortunately.

That's a bummer , the Marron is turning out to be an elusive gene
to out breed / out cross and completely prove out.

Sorry that breeding didn't work out for you and for the Boa world and Marron project.

Hope your other breeding projects come through for ya.

It does suck, but we always have next year. The female is doing great. She slammed down 2 lrg rats yesterday. It is crazy what can happen during breeding attempts. She retains sperm from 2009 after having a successful litter last yr ? Still waiting on a few nice litters.

Now this is a question I've had for a while.

Does having a litter or slug litter clear the deck for the next season,
So you pair your fem with a fresh new male??

If your results are the answer . . . . the answer is No !

That is something kind of scary actually !

Once again Dan sorry it didn't work out good with your other pairings !!

Are they females only?

ceniceros Feb 10, 2011 09:52 AM

Dam... That sucks dan.

I really want to see what the marrons produced when totally outcrossed, well i guess we'll have to wait for the next U.S. Marron litter.

I think Kevin Stewart may be next. Good luck. I was dying to see the outcreossed blood myself.
