Yes, in a couple of weeks I'll be "waking up" my breeder thayeri to begin the cycle. I am excited to see what this year will bring . . .

BTW, is that a "blaze phase" goini hatchling in the bag with the pinky?

Yeah, that's the male Blaze I picked up last year. They won't breed untill at least next year though. Good luck with your Thayeri. I have some, but they have a little ruthie blood in them. I love all the wild colors I've been getting.

Actually i'm completely to blaim. I purchased the Dad which is 50% Ruthveni a few years before I started hanging out here, and I really didn't care much if it was mixed. The Mother is full Thayeri and I never gave it too much thought. Since then I just fell in love with these guys and I have a few babies that have a greenish tint I really want to explore. I will probably get a Thayeri male to continue using the female for some purer breedings, but for now I love playing with them. I am very honest and will always mark the mixed ones appropriately. Here's the parents, mom was in shed. She looks much better than that.

Not me, I bring my snakes out of brumation the first week of March and I still need to get rid of 33 breeder cal kings. Still enjoying the down time.

I'm not sure I will attempt a breeding this spring with my 08 pyros. If the girls put on the extra weight over the next few months and are of suitable size by May, I may do it. If not they can go another year. At this point the entire 08 trio is feeding well.
