Was very sad to hear that Tom Pinson ...

krhodes Feb 10, 2011 10:38 PM

passed away earlier this week. He was very dedicated to captive reproduction of the red phase simus and other southern hognose morphs.
He definitely dedicated much to the hognose hobby as a whole.

If more colubrid guys had balls (pythons) they wouldn't need to lie in police reports.

I was fortunate enough to know Tom and I have one of his male Simus. I have never named a snake before but now my male is named Tom and his son is now Tom Jr. I will miss talking to Tom about Simus very much.

below is Tom Jr.

He was a valuable resource to many in the hognose world. His knowledge and expertise will be greatly missed. My prayers go out to Jazmyn and the rest of the family.

That’s heart breaking. Tom was a fantastic guy. He started buying animals from me about twelve years ago. Western hogs were first. He did fantastic, and bred every single species he got from me. Years later he was kind enough to include me in a his anery tri-color hog project. He, his wife, and son always spent time visiting and updating me at each Florida show. From what Lee Abbott told me, Tom was very skilled at his jewelry work and gem collecting too. Goes without saying he’ll be missed by a lot of people in both communities.
