Nice people.....

Joel R Sep 27, 2003 09:22 PM

Sharla & Jeff were just here for the 2nd time and I tell you, "What nice people". If you ever get a chance to meet them or do a deal with them, what ever, they are great!

CheriS fits in that category too. (Big hugs)

There are many that I have talked to on the phone & e-mail that are great too, I'm not leaving you guys out, I just would have to type for ever.lol A few that stand out are Brandon, Christy, Teresa, Karen, Damin, Nate, the list goes on.
We are blessed to have such a great community. I have been on a couple of the snake forums too and there isn't nearly the bond or close knit community that we have here.

Thanks Guys.

Naw, I think it is more that bearded dragon people really get close to their animals and it is hard to find others that understand that bond or don't think EEEK .. reptiles, you must be crazy....... some of my dragons are better pets and bonded with me than dogs I have had.

ITs nice to find others that understand that closeness and it makes you care about them and their animals also.

We realize also I think that this is a species that is not that common to find that is well cared for and healthy and that the threat to them being harmed here in captivity is very great and only we with education and careful planning can change that.

It gives us several common grounds and thats what makes good friendships...... I have never felt I compete with people here, but that we share and care about that sharing.

I may be new to the beardie world... but everyone I have talked to over email or met in person are great... and alwas looking to help...

this community is a very tight and helpful community...

thanks
Lou

but i have found as of late there are people out for themselves, you know who you are. People that post pics of their dragons and expect comments, but yet havnt anything to say about anyone elses unless its a popular name on the board or its some high colored dragon or comes from a well known breeder. Some people post pics of their new babies and they may not be some high colored morph but they are proud of them all the same and those dragons are just as good as any of the others, those of us that love dragons know color has little to do with why we love them so much. i think its sad to see a proud dragon owner come here, post a pic of their beloved reptile and get little to no repsonse from anyone, and then there is a post above with another dragon from a well known breeder and there are a million follow up posts about how wonderful they are. Seems this place is becoming something of a popularity contest where the little guy is really being left out, so many posts are going unanswerd as of late, important posts, and i know people are here because they are here replying to other posts. im getting annoyed because over the last few months this board has become more of a place to, in a round about way, advertise babies and small breeders rather then being a place where people come to help out others. this is how i feel, im gonna catch flak and i dont really care, just things have changed around here, heads have swelled of some, and some of our old regulars have dwindled out and are missed. i remember coming here with my first dragon, Kinta, about a year and a half ago, this was a very helpful commmunity, everyone answered any questions i had, they helped me try and save my little girl. when i came back here with carrick, my drab little dragon, everyone loved him, he didnt have a speck of color on him, but that didnt matter at all, everyone watched him grow up as i watched others dragons grow up like they were my own. i wish i could sum this all up and make it not sound so scattered and silly, things have just changed around here, i dont know if others feel it, i certianly do. ill stop in here still, but a lot less, the community has become pretty fake in a lot of ways, some honesty has been lost around here, not sure where it went. priorities have changed for many perhaps... ah well.. see ya all around.. repsond if ya want, didnt really write it to get responses rather just to voice how i felt, just stating my opinion.. didnt mean to ruin your thread joel just seemed it was as good a time as any.

some post as I feel like I post to much sometimes as it is, so I try to limit what I respond to and sometimes others have said the same thing I would have.

I do know what you mean about some people that are not here anymore, I miss them too and many have reason that hurt to much to share why they are not. I also know that they they still read here and care, but lost all their dragons and trying to answer things just hurts them too much or having to acknowledge that they lost their (not their fault at all), some will come back when the time is right for them and probably share their experiences, they are just still to raw.

For these reason alone we all need to try and hold the fort while they heal too, I know I do not always agree with KS policies and have had post deleted, but its their place and we are guest.

Just ask if you think you have made a difference to someone, if the answer is yes, then hang in there for that alone. I don't mean to single out popular breeders, but then I am so happy with some of their hunbandry, it is hard not to single them out sometimes. Hardly a day goes by that I do not learn from others on here and that is so valuable even when I may not have agreed with them at first.

I also avoid some post as what I would say would probably get me banned and its best to remain silent sometimes

you have been here since day one, i have learned so much from you, you, eyespy and so many others were always a wealth of knowlege and i have always been grateful, i know you answer when you can, and certianly we all know you truly have a love for dragons, as true as it can be no matter what color (although we know you love them golden ones ) you are always working towards bettering the lives of these guys and even looking to improve the lives of the next generation, guess im just in a mood, i get really miffed when i see things i dont like and feel the shade is being pulled over others eyes, anyhow, thanks for responding, you have helped save a lot of dragons when people have come here as a last resort for help, i know i did with kinta when no one else could help us and people really did try their best to keep her and me going.

hehe..... we all have our days when we question the whole scope of things, but in the end you do what is in your heart and you know is right for you.

Remember, some people can fool some of the people all of the time, all of the people some of the time, but not all the people all the time

We just have to weed though the muddle at times and learn what is right and even make mistakes at times.... and I even learn to keep my fingers off the keys some times

(((((hugs)))))

Some people can fool 50% of people 100% of the time.
Some people can fool 100% of people 50% of the time.
But no one fools 100% of people 100% of the time.

OUCH, now my head hurts, I've been editing and uploading dragons with YFD all day to a site for the researcher taking on this project and getting permission to use them.... MY brains is fried... heh ignore me.

Ya know, Brandon, I only do this to you cause you take it in the manor it was intended....... and ya can't help being a male

((( hugs ))) for Brandon too....even if he is the weaker sex

dragonsbynature Sep 28, 2003 02:03 AM

LMAO... too funny Cheri. Ooooooooh I have sooooooo many comments but i'm just gonna let them go for fear of really getting into trouble.

Thanks for explaining such complexity to me small minded male :D

You didn't ruin anything. I was just commenting on how great most of the people here are, I wasn't looking for a thread, just my comment, expressing my gratitude.

I hope you reconsider & stick around, we all need you. No one person makes this place worthwhile & you leaving would only make it worse. I hope your just getting burnt out and can take a break and come back strong.

Joel

dragonsbynature Sep 27, 2003 10:31 PM

Thank you Joel, I appreciate that. I feel the same way about you... I am glad that we became friends and your dragons you sell are awesome and beautiful.

More importantly, I think I can speak for everyone here when I say I don't think there is a single person on this forum who strives to be more helpful, honest, and care greatly about how others view you and that your friends/customers are completely satisfied. If more breeders had your attitude this reptile trade would not be full of the scam artists that it is.

just my opinion on that.

WOW....stay off here for one night and look what I missed!
I can only say the same thing for Joel & his wife, T & his Double Dry Sink....that's his Mistress!!!
They couldn't be any nicer
I picked up my 2 little ones from Joel last night....Hummer (a BIG boy) and Ginger (a sweet little girl). They both tucked into their new little beds very quickly last night and were off to dragon dreamland after the 30 minute ride across the river.
They are both in shed & have PINK fabric paint on them, but I'll post pics when I can, I am SO excited to have them

Sharla
