So the Petaluma showwent well today, it was great to see everyone.

I bought some pinkies for my females, and some ate them fine. But another bit its head, and then dropped it. So the pinkie is stil alive, but squaling and writhing. Gecko bites its head 3 or 4 times til it is dead, letting it writhe, then coming back when it sees movement. Til finally it was dead and it didn't eat it. It was pretty awful. All that suffering and squealing for nothing!

On the bright side the females that needed it most ate them.

Poor little thing... I actually just started a couple colonies of mice (mainly because I go through so many pinks with the hogs), so my females will have an ample supply of pinkies this season.

It should make for tons of fertile clutches, pinks do a gravid female good.

The first time I fed a snake a live pinky, it ate the poor thing butt first, and it was squealing and wiggling the whole time...I switched to frozen/thawed shortly thereafter, lol, but I guess that won't work with leos.
