I have a male and female leopard gecko. She has been laying eggs since march all the way to the 1st week of Septenber, and just stopped laying eggs. Are geckos like rabits, hamsters, or mice which breed all year? In addition do leos need any special season changes, tempature changes, and a different amount of day light with the seasons to mate? Also as soon as I got my female, my male started mating with her after aweek of placing them together them together (of course I quarintine my female before puting her in with my male).

I've hear they benefit from a cooling period....though I'm not sure if it's required...I only got my colony together 2 months ago

I have 5 females and 2 males...
One female seems to think that NOW is her breeding season...she's about to lay her 3rd clutch.
The other females won't even look at a male even if he was handsome, muscular...you know the type??
Anyway, I think it depends on the personality, the temperature, the area you live (I live in Florida, so it's very hard to cool them off)...
