Cage Size for Sonoran

slitheringdead Feb 13, 2011 04:34 PM

Hi, i will receive a yearling Sonoran Gopher soon and it should grow to around 5' as an adult because that's how long the parents are. I know that pits are generally more active than other colubrids, so i'm thinking about getting a proper display cage for my sonoran.

Do you guys think a 32x24x12 would be enough space? This is the cage i'm thinking about because it will fit well into my current shelving system ( http://www.constrictorsnw.com/cagessupply/plmodularcages.html )

I normally would get a 4x2x1 because there's not much of a price difference (only $20 more), especially if i buy it from Repti-Racks, but a 4' cage won't fit conveniently into the snake room right now.

I'd go w/ the 4 footer. When it comes to Pits, the bigger the better. IMHO Sonorans get the largest of the Gopher ssp.
