Genetics and Morphs

4runner Sep 27, 2003 10:02 PM

I was wondering if anybody could help me with the genetics of some ball python morphs. I want to know whether a particular morph is dominant, co-dominant, or recessive.

Dominant: any examples of these? Are spiders a dominant form?

Co-dominant: I know pastels are a good example of this, any others that you know of?

Recessive: are ghost morphs due to recessive genes?

If there is a particular website that explains the genetics of morphs, I would greatly appreciate if you could provide me with an address.

Also with the creation of morphs with dual traits being expressed (like snows), is it possible to have triple or quadruple traits expressed in one ball python? Imagine a piebald, pastel, spider.

Thanks!

Heh, should've checked the sponsors sites before I posted this. Anyways kudos to Ralph Davis for an awesome site on ball pythons.
