crested gecko lighting

scooter182 Sep 27, 2003 10:25 PM

i've built my cage and have it all set up for the crested that i'm hoping to get soon. but in everything that i've read, nothing is mentioned about what kind of lighting they need. do they need a basking light or uv?

You do not need supplemental lighting as these animals are nocturnal, unless you wish to keep live plants, which is another story. If your room is to cool low wattage infrared or black light bulbs will do the job. Otherwise you really don’t need any of it. Best of Luck.
