Thanks guys....
That Deep Orange MSP has some great lineage (Torres X Vermilya)....It is a sibling brother to Jonel Lopez's "sharktooth" MSP.
I call him Symon....LOL

I actually want to pick up a melanistic thayeri some time this year if I can find one for sale.

There are about 5 folks I know of in the US working with them......If all goes as planned we may have some extras......

I didn't realize they were so scarce in the US these days. I guess I haven't seen many lately, but I remember seeing them at reptile shows 6-7 years ago. A friend of used to produce them from hets.

All I want is a single lone male. I hope the united thayeri breeders can spare one!

Very nice and most are still looking pretty plump. I echo what Doug said about the first one. Oh yeah. The melanistic is awful nice too.

Thanks T....
And yes, it seems the 3.5 months at 55F didn't take any weight off of them......That is why I believe in feeding them plenty prior to October........

As for the melanistics:
We (Shannon & I) have 2.1 Lemke Line Melanistics and 1.2 from Melanistic Lineage to work with this year.....I hope to see some cool clutches with melanistics, MSPs and Leonis hatching....as well as a full clutch of melanistics........

John,
Love those dark grey/nice red mex-mex. What happens when you breed two of those together? Do you get some dark and some normal mex-mex in the mix?

Nice ruthveni too. I have a soft spot for those. Easier captives than many zonata but still mountain king by all standards. Would love to visit the habitat one day. I wish folks who have habitat pics would post some. Only pics I have seen are in Hubb's MK book.

Check out SierraHerps.com for some Ruthveni Habitat Pics or all mexicana for that matter.....

Black phase X Black Phase Mex Mex will yeild all black phase offspring.
If a Black phase is bred to a normal you will get some inbetweeners. Their is a wild line of Black Phase mex mex but the trait seems to act like a line bred trait.
