I think the desset spiny's lay eggs... am I correct? All I know is from my blue spinys, which are live bearers. Every Sept - Oct(now) breeding season starts for them. The male starts head-bobbing, and breeding continues till late Nov, early Dec. Then the hibernate for several months and in April, babies pop out. I did find a good book on Swifts and Spiny lizards by Barlett & Barlett. I've misplaced it so I can't find anything more out for you, but look for the book. It's the only one I've found to go into detail about these species.

I hope this helped some, just late nature and their biological clocks go to work.

Egg laying species. They mate in the spring and lay eggs shortly after. Give them a "winter" by reducing day length and temps. Incubate the eggs at 80, for 8 - 10 weeks. Can lay up to 20 eggs.

If they're like mine, then there is no tricking them into mate. Just wait till spring, bring the temps up a bit more then, and hopeful all will go well.
