Kids N Milks

KcTrader Feb 20, 2011 09:18 PM

I remember a posting done back a while ago with pictures of kids and snakes. Since we have been on the subject of the future of this hobby no better time then to see the actual generation to take over. Let's see some of the kids with Milks. And Can we Identify the animal also?

I wish I still had this one! Same snake as in the above photo, I know this one isn't to hard.

Cute I HAVE SOME OF THOSE , KIDS THAT IS,,LOL

Yea, I had NA Milks most of my snake keeping time. Before my divorce I had to get rid of everything quickly and when I decided it was time to start the collection again I just went a different route. I will return to NA Milks when I decide I have enough patience to feed the worms.

BTW Great Pic!!

I hope that my kids keep up the interest for a long time. It is a lot of fun for me to hike/herp with the kids, and even more fun when milks are involved.

Always nice to see the kidletts enjoying the herps.

My son w/ a Pale milk from a locality that we'd never found a milk in before. This was a big day for us, we high fived and smoked a cigar together. Thats a joke, he didn't get to smoke a cigar.

My daughter and Cole, w/ a Pale from the same locality a year later.

The knuckleheads w/ a Racer.

Double Rainbow all the way across the sky. OMG!

Jimmy have you seen the Youtube video of Dbl. rainbow all the way across the sky.
It's pretty funny, and that why I put the photo in, as a reference to that.

Check it out. I'd never seen it before and Cole showed it to me last week, and we were laughing our heads off over it. I showed it to my kids and now I can't get them to stop saying OMG IT'S A DOUBLE RAINBOW! OMG! OMG!

There are a number of other posters that put up some good post too, (Dave Niles post comes to mind) and I've enjoyed reading some great subjects on here over the years.

Thanks again.

While the wife and I don't have any kids ourselves, I spend lots of time in the field with Dell's pygmies. They're a blast and add a whole 'nother element to the experience.

Nice looking gentilis (you've got e-mail) and cute offspring!

Double Thanks Cole! I sometimes go without the kids, and I have to agree it just isn't the same, I hope my kids carry on the torch of snake keeping.

All five of my Daughters kinda dig snakes but only one of them is showing allot of interest. She is about to graduate High School and is heading to Colorado state University this fall to study zoo-ology.She is awesome and carries a 4.0 since the fifth grade.
My oldest daughter Cinthia(21 now) just had her first baby in October (yeah, I am a grandpa now!!!!)and loved snakes and bugs when she was little but she out grew it pretty fast.
My 18 year old (Bonnie) just graduated last summer from high school and is just working here in town and chillin.
My 9 year old (Mariposa) loves all animals and will probably do the same as Emma Sue and will hit school after High School.
My youngest girl Zonata (yes, her real name is Zonata) is autistic and could take or leave the animals. She does like all animals but she is a bit scared still and will hardley even touch a snake.

Here are a couple pics for fun. They are a few years old though.
this is me and my 4 oldest girls about 4 years ago flipping for rosy boas.

this is Mariposa with her very first solo catch. It was about 4 years ago also.Sierra Garter was her first catch ever and we still have this snake.

Mari again with one of her favorites to hold.

Mari with a rubber boa.

one more of Mari just chillin out with her little gopher she found in the yard.

she loves to show off "Mango" when people come over to see snakes.

here is little zoey helping me take some pics one day.

And this is the next one in line.My one and only Grandkid so far.I am sure I will have him flipping rocks in no time.LOL...

Thanks

Great pics there Shannon....Congrats on being Grandpa! I was lucky enough to do my snake hunting as a kid with my Grandma, she wouldn't hold them but she sure could spot them from a mile away....and also knew right where one was hiding. Grandpa always tried to hit them with the riding mower.(He hated snakes) I would ride along just so I could save them from him. He finally got the gist of things and stopped chasing them with the mower. If he ever knew how many snakes I had when I lived in the basement apartment it would of had a heart attack...

Neither of my kids are really kids any more... grown up and moved away. Had I known this was coming up I would have taken a photo of the grand daughter with my Black Milk this past weekend when I saw her... perhaps I'll revisit this thread later.

'Tis a very cool idea though Jim.

Thats ok Gerry, post when you get some pics, I am sure when the time comes I will have grandchildren to enjoy this hobby with...Can't wait I can send them home with a chorus frog in their pocket, just like I did. Hope their Dad isn't afraid of frogs!

The only one I can find at the moment is my daughter (two years ago) with a juvenile LTT.

KcTrader Feb 22, 2011 05:18 PM

Looks like she is really into that beautiful Ltt. Thanks for sharing. Did anyone notice that most of the pics were of girls??? I bet all the boys were playing video games???(well, except for one)
