Ok so a little background. About 2 1/2 weeks ago I contacted a guy on cl to purchase some corn snakes he had placed an ad for. I got a total of 5. 1 was a baby amel.1 was a snow/bubblegum snow. 1 was an anery mot.1 was a ghost or cinder not sure.(weird looking. Looks like he has reddish saddles)and the lastwas an adult hypo female. The hypo was blue when I got her and shed ab out 4 days ago.I can feel eggs in her so I am thinking that shed was a prelay shed maybe. Anyhow the problem comes like this...... she was housed with afican house snakes. Have any of you ever heard of a corn x ahs mix? I don't know if they will be viable or not but got the reptibator up and running just in case. Thanks in advance.

If its not possible for the crossing the only other thing I can think of is he said he he got her from a reptile supplier and she was a past breeder.so could she have retained sperm? If so how long is it viable? Odds are they are slugs but just wanted to see what others thought.

My first thought is that it's very early for eggs! But I guess it's possible. The other possiblity and I hope it isn't this one, is retained eggs from last season. Really anything is possible! I have never heard of African house snakes crossed with corns, but who knows?

It is generally still way too early for them to have already bred and her being ready to lay eggs, but it could be you are just feeling large egg folicles(ova), and they are ready to be fertilized. This is very typical for them to swell in their lower mid-section and have lumps that resemble eggs, but are not firtilized yet.

But as Jorge mentioned, almost anything is actually possible..(shrug)
