Johnson A419 for incubating

John_Yezbak Feb 23, 2011 04:57 PM

Does anyone use the Johnson controls A419 thermostat in conjunction with a hovabator type incubator? I have used Hovabators for years but don't like how the temp shifts with the ambient room temps. I have to keep a very close eye on them as temps warm in the spring and summer months.
Thought I could set a high limit (safety shut off) with the built in thermostat then regulate the actual incubating temps with the A419.
I realize the A419 is an on/off thermostat but I want to be able to set the temp digitally.

Thanks for any input,
John

I have used a Johnsons A419 on my incubator for years with no troubles. Although its not a hovabator it is a small converted fridge
