Fl (Brooks) Kings

bigtman Feb 23, 2011 10:57 PM

Well I fed Some of my Brooks the others are in shed. And the ones I fed I went ahead and gave them a large pinkie mouse and a peach fuzzie, just to see if they would eat both or one or the other. And guess what they all ate BOTH. LOL . I normally don't sit and watch them eat, but Annabella aka The Beast was out waiting. So I put the prey up front so i could watch her. When I pulled the tray out she ducked under the paper towel. But once I laid the prey down and push the tray in, it only took about a minute and she was out looking for them. When Annabella found them she hit the pinkie so hard that she was standing on her head with about a third of her body straight up in the air. Once she ate the pinkie I left the room. Before I went to bed I check on them and they all had eaten both. I just want to say Thanks for the input. I really enjoy coming on here. I do believe that I can now say IMHO that Kingsnakes are more fun then Pythons.LOL
sorry for making this so long but I am just having a great time.

Also, when I feed two or three slightly different sized meals at the same time to one snake, I always give the largest rodent first, then the next largest and so on, as this would help the largest rodent get digested just ahead of the smaller ones for maximum efficiency for the snake, and less chance of any regurge problems. Many times it is not a real big issue, but given the choice when I am looking at them anyway just before feeding them, that is what I do...LOL!. Doing the opposite could sometimes be an issue depending on a few things...know what I mean?

I can see that. What I did was lay both down at the same time and she hit the pinkie first, But I will try that next feeding. As for the rest I don't know what they ate first. Like I said I really don't like to watch, I don't want to stress them out. I like to give them peace and quite with no lights on so they can feel safe to eat. But thanks Doug. Here is Annabella about a week ago. She is starting to lose more of the black. But she still has that blue glow to her.
