I know guy who currently has a quite nice venomous snake collection. His pride and joy is a malaysian king cobra. Well, he breeds ball pythons and rat snakes to feed it. I have never heard of anyone breedng balls for feeder food. Anyone else heard of this? just curious

I doubt he would wait all that time to get get 7-8 eggs wait for them to hatch and then feed them to the cobra.....thats only 8 meals if he is lucky......

I think he is just yanking your chain on this one...btu i could be wrong..........

Probably not. He would need a huge breeding group at 3 or 4 eggs apiece. I have heard of cobra owners buying the doa's from imported shipments and then freezing them for food though.

Well i know that the balls are not his only source of food for the snake. He also breds rat snakes for food. Im not sure if he has any other sources of food but im sure he does. He told me that i could have a few hatchling balls so im probably gona go over there either today or tomorrow and pick them up . Ill try to post some pics of them and the 3 balls i currently have as soon as pssible.

too expensive.....it's cheaper to buy them from Africa to feed to kings.........yes it happens........

I have a friend with a big pair of kings and he uses free cornsnakes to feed the babies.......(I supply him)...(kinked,non-feeding,and non-sellable corns).....

the adult kings were trained to eat rats.....which is not that hard and they do well on......they are at at least 13 and 11 foot plus now....eat rats with no problems.....

have fun.....

oh.....captive balls I sell for at least $25 wholesale
........you can import them for anwhere from $3 each to $8 depending on who from and when you buy them.........
