I think it is the same thing as thinkgeek, but I think they do something to it inside to make it better, so I'd get the one meant for reptiles...not the thinkgeek one.

Why not just build one? A foam meat cooler, a strip of heat tape and a thermostat...all you really need.

Mine is a old frig that doesn't work...took out all of the important stuff.....fig was free..mounted a light bulb fixture at top and bottom of frig part with heat shroud...used helix therm and cut a hole at the top in the back and put in a computer tower fan converted with a 12 v converter..Helix and power strips are in the freezer section ....maybe 100.00 bucks in the whole set up.can send pics if you like to your email, just let me know,,
I have hatched dragons, and snakes in it with no problem..but it only holds 16 tubs...only downfall will need a few more this year. I hate it when thats a problem...lol

I've hatched 4 clutches in a hovabator before. I took out the wire at the bottom taped over all the holes and filled the lower half with vermiculite. I think I lost 1 egg of about 17 eggs (8 of the eggs were small from a small female, but all hatched). Last year i did the homemade think with a huge cooler, heat cable and a helix. It worked great and can hold up to 12 clutches. There's videos on youtube of how to make them. It's something to consider when you out grow the hovabator and thinkgeek ones. Good luck Chris
