My Only Bullsnake, Ahnuld-the-Red!

Pit_fan Feb 24, 2011 09:03 PM

Otherwise, my main interests are the gophers. Enjoying a late February day outside with Ahnuld-the-Red.

That is one big beefy bull! He is getting some beautiful colors, too. I have a female almost as big as him. Too bad you don't live closer to California! LOL!

My male bull Alfonzo baking on his bread cooling rack over the UTH after eating a big meal today. Today would not be a good day to do any outdoor photo shoots, anyway; all snowy and sleety. Gotta love them bulls! His sister is in blue.

Thanks all!

He's got a lot of "personality" to boot. He will be three years old later this year. Here's a photo from 2008 during his days in a deli cup.

Ah-nuld has sure turned out to be a beautiful red bull! Here is a baby picture of my female Zoey I wish I could mate with Ah-nuld, picture taken July 09 on one inch grid for perspective. She looks the same now just way bigger.

Ahnuld would probably love the opportunity to pair up with a big female red. Getting to the CA state line isn't the issue, we can do that in just over two hours. The problem is the area of CA that we would have to traverse to get up to where you are.

These two are yet juniors. Another year and a half, Ahnuld will be four and maybe a seven footer by then. Then he'll be ready for the Mrs.

Got any recent pics of that gal? Looks better with a cleaner pattern than Ahnuld did at that age.

Here she is a couple weeks ago; her brother is in blue in this shot. She was hatched April 30, 2009. So she has some more growing to do. Their mother was a Kingsville red and their father was a Stillwater hypo. It would be great to mate her with a full red and get those wonderful Ah-nuld colors!

I live near Highway 88, not that hard to get to. Take Hwy 80 to 50 to 88 to 26. A couple of years maybe we can get them together.

Very nice looking gal! We get up to the Auburn/Grass Valley area every so often to visit family so am somewhat familiar with that part of the state. Always tempting myself with those Pacifics, of which, I have none (yet).

Ahnuld originated in Florida (Jim Keenan) so it's been awhile since he's been on a big road trip.

What ever happened to Jim Keenan's website, HomeGrownHerps? I would have liked to maybe get an Ahnuld of my own, but the site is gone.

Anyway, I will be keeping an Ahnuld in mind when Zoey comes of age!

Don't know what happened there. His site was very useful in hand-picking the snake or snakes that you wanted, which helped in the decision when I got little Ahnie. You could actually buy the snake depicted. Got two SDG's from him in 2009. He had reduced stock by then and then further in 2010, and now the site has been taken down. Bummer!
