Who here has their own mealworm colonies?

I had a huge one but gave it to my friend, because I didn't have anything at the time. If you don't then you don't know what your missing. It's pretty simple. Just take a bucket, or some large plastic container with a lid and fill with oatmeal and crushed bran. In a few weeks you will probably have new meallies crawling around. Mine got out of control before. Way too many beatles. Now to get a cricket colonie.....

You had new mealies in a few weeks? I cant believe that, I had new mealies in a few months! Mine was going great, had it for almost two years, then I got a ton of little white bugs that were eating the beetles, had to toss the whole thing. GRRRR, I have NO idea where they came from, I had not added anything to the colony in months!! Same thing happened to my superworm colony. Now I have neither.

I have one, and It's great!!! I am just now starting to use 'home-grown', and you can't beat it! I feed my dragon only to freshly shed and young, soft ones. I also use them for my sugar gliders, who eat a ton every night!!

And you sure can't beat the price!
