possibly buying a BP

Any advice? I am more of a kingsnake/cornsnake guy but I'm starting to look into spiders or pins(don't know if I can afford any of the others). Will a BP freak being housed in the same room with other snakes? I've heard they are shy also, tank size? Any input will be appreciated

You should definetly give ball pythons a try. Pins or spiders are great morphs to work with. They are a pattern morph and look great mixed with just about ANY color morph. Pastels are great morphs to own, are very inexpensive and make every morph look better. You could start a hatchling in a 10 gallon and go bigger as the snake gets bigger. I recommend a 40 gallon tank for an adult. Give them a try and you'll be hooked. Good luck Chris

I agree, you should def. try balls. I had 2 snakes that I was kinda "eh" about, then I got my first ball python.... a little over a year later, I have 7 now. I love love love them. Spiders and pins are really neat. With spiders, I was told never to get a hatchling (I did anyways), because most develop a "head twitch" of varying degrees. I've had mine since June and she's my most finicky eater. I got her at about 70g and I"ve only been able to get her up to about 170g in 6 months whereas all my others have grown about 400g. I've heard this is pretty common in spiders, although I'm not sure about the validity of that statement. Either way, spiders and pins are awesome to work with. Another favorite as was already mentioned... pastels are BEAUTIFUL. You can get some really amazing pastels for a low cost, especially if you aren't sure that balls are for you. My snakes all live in the same room with me, and I have two other lizards and are fine. I had mine in a 10gal but make sure to have cage clips on the tank if you do use glass. Another option is using rubbermaid/sterilite containers and drilling holes. That's how I keep mine. Since I don't have a rack made yet, I have my lids velcro'd down to prevent escapes. Good luck!
