clutch size vs. weight female

john dhont Mar 01, 2011 05:58 AM

I will put my pair of het. albino hognoses together for the first time this year.
They are almost 3 years old and the female weights somewhere between 450-500 gram and the male is 105 gram.
I don't breed snakes to gain money and always wait till the females have good age and weight.
How many eggs should I expect from this 450-500 gram female (first and second clutch)?
Do you people introduce the male again to the female after she lay her first clutch?
What is the weight of your biggest female and what is your biggest clutch?

I'll bite.
I haven't been breeding hogs too long but I do believe with size comes larger clutches. I also think it depends on weather the female has been bred before, better results if she's "experienced". My largest is around 600 grams and my largest clutch is 21 good eggs so far.
