HELP! Hole in tank is 1.5" Wide....

Johnstud56 Mar 02, 2011 09:46 AM

I trying to find a lock or something to keep the sliding glass doors from opening.... the person drilled the hole 1.5" not knowing that there arent many locks out there this size. What can I get to keep the snake in and my kids out?? Any ideas?

How about industrial epoxy with a lock the size of your preference?

You can always use a showcase lock. Might need to cover up that hole though.

I tried the showcase lock... the door has metal pieces that block the use of a showcase lock that run along the glass doors to seal it.

Why not just cut a new sheet of glass with the proper hole for your lock?

cut out two square oversized pieces of plexiglass. Drill a hole the size of your lock in the center, then use the lock housing and nut to pinch the plexiglass together.

Or......

Replace it with a new piece with the correct sized hole
