Zula Gets With the Program!

pyromaniac Mar 03, 2011 04:34 PM

So all my snakes had commenced feeding sometime in February except for this one little bitty '10 pyro, who had not eaten since December 18, '10. Finally I took her pinky and lanced it's head and popped the brains out and smeared them on her snout. Then I covered her jar with a towel for awhile, and when I came back after a short time found this:

Zula with a full belly!

Thanks! She is one of a 1.2 Chiricahua trio I bought from Troy Hibbits last fall. Wonderful little snakes!

Have to admit, I am! I will remember the pinky brains on the snake's snout trick should I get any more babies slow to start up or resume feeding.

And when that trick doesn't work you will soon learn a full arsenal of tricks and techniques for stubborn feeders......Including but no limited to adjusting husbandry temps, techniques and humidity......LOL
