Yellow Rat vs Squirrel

mhaze Mar 05, 2011 09:33 AM

My mother found this one in her backyard yesterday. Before she could grab the camera, she saw the fluffy tail being swallowed. This is in Citrus County, FL. The same snake has been around the house for a long time.

I'm ready for warmer weather here in NC. Can't wait to see some big black rat snakes.

Good thing you pointed out the squirrel I might have missed it. LOL

Nice looking rat to have hanging around. You should keep that pic handy for the next time some noob asks how big a meal they should feed their ratsnakes.

Great "in-situ" photo of nature doing it's thing!

Now on a funny commical note, I am also glad the arrow was pointing to the sqirrel. Otherwise I would have just figured it was a very old Yellow Rat with a big beer belly or something..LOL!

The latest thing, beer belly rat snakes!

DMong Mar 07, 2011 11:45 AM

I would bet that Brian Barczyk (BHB) would love to get in on those "beer-belly" ratsnakes, then he would have scaleless "beer-bellies" soon afterwards..
