Just measured my blue...

Conrad May 26, 2003 04:19 PM

Wow, measured my blue beauty this weekend. When I got him and his girlfriend around a year ago, he was in the 7 1/2' range, and undoubtedly a beautiful snake then. Well, he's up to 8' 2" now. I haven't measured my female yet, though I doubt she has gained like the male has seeing as most of a females nutrion goes into the production of eggs. She's still easily over 7" though. Just thought I'd share...thanks.

Conrad,
What is the disposition of these animals? Were they Dennis' snakes? To be honest I was SCARED of his breeders! I checked his out (considering purchase) some time ago. I have my share of high strung animals, but didn't want a snake I couldn't handle at least for cage cleaning, etc. I'd love to see a picture. If I worked with hatchlings, would I stand a chance?

Yes, these were Dennis' too. Very mobile, and not a sit and be observed snake on the most part. But I've never been bitten, or been struck at unless I was handling rodents. If I had the money when I picked them up, I would have had the Kunsari's a year ago. But yeah, hatchlings would be a good choice. You do have realize that when you first see a juvi blue, that they aren't all that blue. They grow into their color. Mine should be hatching out sometime next month. If you wanna e-mail me, I can snap some pics of my pair and send them to ya. If I had to give up all but one pair of snakes I have right now...this is the pair I would keep. :D
