To make red even more red you need...

boaphile Mar 05, 2011 06:24 PM

To make red, you need red.

To make MORE red... you need more red.

She is a Monster Tail Pastel Dream female, and sister of the boy that Tony "Mr. Ant" bred to the Pastel Dream Motley he made those killer Motleys with in 2010.

She was my favorite from that litter. I have to wash the color off my hands after I get done handling her it is so intense.

I think this is going to just like the first person to put peanut butter and chocolate together only redder... lol Two great tastes that are going to taste great together.

I don't like the rain when there is a parade however a few things that should a tleast be considered...that animal is a exceptional pastel a LINE bred animal. The Marrons and Super Marrons are GENETIC traits.

Here is the problem I see happening, breeding a Pastel into a Super Marron is all good in the sense that you are producing (HOPEFULLY) a full litter of Marrons that will be saturated in color from the Pastel(Line bred animals) influence this creating exceptionally colored Marron animals.

So now you have Marrons (co dom) with Pastel influence. Those that buy these breed them to X snake and produce a litter of babies but what happens then is the MAJOR issue. People will pick up a nice red animal presuming it is a Marron but here is the problem what if that animal is an exceptional looking Pastel and doesnt have the Marron trait?????

I like the Marron trait and feel there is ALOT of good that can be done from it but that Pastel has the red and the cleanness to give a Marron a run for its money....

Here is a simple test...If you were to take a Marron and put it next to that pastel the majority of people would assume they are both exceptionally colored boas. The Super Marron they could tell the difference...what happens when you produce a litter from one of those Marron babies from that pairing and breed it into something else and then they are unable to distinguish they difference between a exceptional pastel and a Marron....

Happiness and joy always eludes a hypocrite Bro! It spreads like a virus for Better Or for worse. When it rains it pours like hell. LOL

The most wicked pairing I've seen yet this year! Raising the color bar again for boa's! Who else but the MAN himself. Good luck!!!!
Seems like Super Marrons almost top bloodly salmons as far as color goes.

There is zero reason to assume that a Marron breeding, using a strongly red influenced mate, will not produce babies that still fall into two distinct groups. My expectation is that they would just be that much more extreme. And why not!? I suppose enough breedings have not been done to say with 100% certainty what the results of any particular breeding might produce, and I look forward to myself and others showing us example of such breedings soon.

The notion that Morrons and or Super Marrons should not be bred to animals with strong red influence runs counter to every fiber of my being. I strive to make any Boa project I put my hands to better or more extreme in what I happen to personally like. Anyone who seeks to make the status quo of whatever is welcome to do that for sure. I can't wait to see a Pastel Dream Monster Tail Super Marron Key West! That is where I am heading. Come on little Key West girls!!! Grow! LOL

The bottom line is Marron everything is going to happen eventually. There is no evidence that for some reason, that some characteristics will be untouched or unaffected by the Marron mutation if this or that is used in breeding. That makes no sense. If in fact that was the case, then they fundamentally would not be a co-dominant trait would they? Of course they will.

Those characteristics are even more extreme in the Super Marrons. Ever notice how out of the average the Super Marron's patterns are?

A little bit reminiscent of Jungles and Aztecs at the same time. Great stuff on a bright sunny day in Minnesota!

i agree, the marron gene should "marron out" whatever you breed into it. I think anyone thats working with a marron should plug it into whatever other gene they stronly like and make a marron version of that. I cant wait to see marron mots, jungles, aztecs, caramels, Key Wests, and on and on
