Any guesses on these gophers?

joann42 Mar 06, 2011 04:45 PM

the darker one has a white belly the lighter has a yellow belly.
I know nothing about gophers so are these youngsters or full grown? Locale?
The pics wash out alot of the colors but I just got them today. The one was so thirsty it was drinking while I was still holding it for like 5 full minutes.

Reddish saddles are generally indicative of the Sonoran's, these may have linage from the eastern side of the "geo range". Not accustomed to saddles the size of those on a corn snake on the AZ Sonoran's but there are so many tinkerers out there now producing all manner of morphs and the snakes have such enormous latitude for variation, so almost anything is possible.

I'm thinking Stillwater x Kingsville bulls. Can you get a good head shot of each?

Not adults, look to be about yearlings.

I appreciate the help.Im pretty happy with them. Not flashy but pretty nice personalities. It happens at expos, that feeling that you have to get something. It was actually one of the worst expos Ive ever been to.And this pair was all we ended up with.
