Beardie being really lathargic....

RaffertyReptiles Sep 28, 2003 09:48 AM

my bearded dragon has become very lathargic the past few days hes just been lieing on the ground under one of the logs in the cage, he hasn't eaten or pooped hes just beening lieing there. Is it possible that he wants to brumate? I've had him for a little over two years and hes never done this before? I was thinking of taking him to the vet tomorrow, does anyone have any suggestions?

thanks

It's very possible and probably likely. Taking a poop sample in before your dragon totally brumates is a good idea though.

It is very possible it's ready for brumation. A few of mine are just about ready as well. Like Christy said taking a stool sample in would be a good idea. An illness, and brumation look the same at times, and for a first time beardie owner it is so stressfull. I found it to be very scary even though I knew what was going on with them.
