Kinda wierd. I was still waiting for more info. Hope I didn't do anything wrong! Still looking for a East Sanderson male.

""Inquiries" versus "wanted ads" - there is a fine line between inquiring about an animal or product and posting a wanted advertisement for one. For example, it is not ok to announce "If anyone is selling or giving away a lizard, I want one," or "I have a litter of puppies, email me for details." It is ok to inquire about (ask for) if anyone knows a breeder of a certain type of pet, or a seller of a certain kind of product, but it is not ok to offer this type of information unsolicited (unasked for). It is ok for someone to respond to a member's inquiry with "I breed that type of pet and would be glad to talk to you about it if you email me," or "I got my cages from XYZ Catalog and they were great." A brief exchange (one single response) indicating that a user knows of, or offers, a resource related to something being discussed by other users, is acceptable as long as no discussion of prices, payment, or similar commercial topics occurs. Further exchanges must be taken to email. A pattern of regularly recommending a specific company, whether your company or someone else's, may be taken into consideration when evaluating if a pattern of commercial activity is present."

Just my $0.02 but I think your request for a specific male was deamed to have crossed the line and was considered a "want ad" and was therefore deleted.

Oh ya! very handy information Joe. I used it last year, and checked it for updates this year. There's just not any of that locality out there that I could find.
Thanks for the suggestion.

I get it now. It was not intentional and I understand why the post was removed. Thanks for the explanation.

Slmv,

message me and I will give you email address. I saw that it had gotten removed on the forum. East Sandersons are becoming increasingly rare when it comes to availability.

Here are my two east Sanderson females from Rick Green.

Nice East Sandersons. Those are his 09s from last year? I ended up getting their brother from Ricky Green. I really need to get pics taken of the females I got from Robert Pelaez. The pics I originally had were corrupted on my memory card. I am going to work on my new pics.

slimlv Mar 09, 2011 03:37 PM

Thanks Jay. They are the 09's. They were on the small side when I got them but once they started taking rats, they really took off. Why are they so hard find now?

Jay_the_Snake Mar 09, 2011 04:03 PM

There just seems that there are not many breeders of East Sandersons anymore. In the classifieds, you may see an ad or two, and that will be it for the next 6 months-1 year. I have to say I was fortunate to acquire mines. My male is still on the small side, I plan on power feeding him this spring/summer. If he lightens up like the females, he is going to be one amazing animal then.

Thats a crappy feeling when you lose one. sorry to hear it. I have a pair of generics that I are paired now that I hope will breed this year. I bought them as a lajitas proven pair but lost the trail on proving the locality. They still will make awesome hatchlings. I'll post them up when it happens.

I think you mean Val Verde, not Val Verdy.

I think it's just the time of year. There are several breeders of high quality East Sanderson stock but most people have probably sold the majority of their 2010 hatchlings by now.

It's tempting to get something just because it's available now but if you're willing to wait you will almost certainly be able to get what you really want next hatching season.

Now is a good time to get a cage ready and to ask about breeders and get an idea of who will be producing what. It's also still a good idea to keep checking the classifieds as people sometimes sell off good specimens to make room for something new.

IMHO Sanderson(East, West, North and In Town) is a great locality to work with because it has qualities of both the eastern and western localities. I have two pairs of F1 East Sanderson's but they won't be beedable until 2012. Here's some pics just to give you an idea of the variability of the locale.

Aaron,

The first one is defintely my FAVORITE out of your group of snakes. Is that one a East Sanderson or another Sanderson locale? I am really hoping that I can score a Christmas Mountain alterna that looks just like that this upcoming year.

Snake number 3 looks exactly like my East Sanderson female that just passed away. My alterna phase East Sanderson, is something special, however.
