Opinions Please...

Ok, since a lot of you are on the subject of everglades for the past few days I need some opinions on the everglades below. I bought this snake as a hypo everglades, and even though the snake is bright orange is doesn't appear to be the bright orange I see on other hypo everglades. So I'm assuming that it's either a high end everglades or a low end hypo everlgades. Either way it's a really pretty snake. I'll know for sure in 2012 because I've got a sure fire hypo everglades male just waiting to mature. I've posted a youtube video and a picture to show you what I mean. Thanks

Yeah, I agree with what you are talking about. It is very difficult to to distinguish certain "low-expression" hypos from exceptionally nice normal Everglades. Everglades naturally have more of a reduced (muted) melanin content in their longitudinal striping anyway for some reason.

But whatever type that one may be, it is clearly a very nice looking Everglades either way.

Good luck with the breeding!

That glades there looks a lot like the Barr line hypos that I work with. It's hard to be certain without actually seeing it in person and knowing some of it's linage, but for what it's worth.... That's what it looks like to me...

Thanks for the reply. I bought it from a reputable breeder so I'm assuming it's a hypo. I notice it's a little darker than the hypo everglades I've seen in person, however the orange is really rich, deep and bright, better than any normal everglades I've seen.

Here is another picture to give you an idea.

I did a google on the barr line hypo's and it's exactly as the description you describe which is rich deep orange with the faint graphite stripes. I guess I'll never know for sure, but it sure sounds like it. Thanks a lot.

That is definitely a killer everglades whatever the line!I like the stripes myself.Aside from the eyes mine look more amel. than hypo to me.If that's what a Barr line looks like,I'd like to have a pr.!!Jeff
